In a daring theft, Vinod Yadav, a resident of Gaya, was arrested for stealing artefacts worth Rs 15 crore from the Shyamala Hills State Museum in Bhopal. The museum staff reported that the museum had been closed on Sunday evening, and it remained closed the following day due to a holiday. Upon investigating, police found that the locks of two rooms containing gold and silver archaeological ornaments, coins, and other valuable materials had been broken into.

Following standard procedure, the police sealed all exit gates and conducted a thorough search of the museum. During the search, police discovered the accused Vinod Yadav, injured and unable to climb a 25-foot wall. After an intensive search, police found a bag full of stolen jewellery, coins, and artefacts hidden by the thief.

Vinod confessed that he had entered the museum on Sunday afternoon with a valid ticket. After hiding under the stairs, he waited for the museum to close. When the doors were locked, he tried to escape by jumping over the wall. However, his plan failed, and he was caught. Vinod also claimed that he had previously visited the museum, noticing that the CCTV cameras and alarms were turned off and that the doors were weak, which allowed him to carry out the theft easily.
