A 45-year-old man, Rajam Sammaiah, was arrested by the police on Friday for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in the Palimela area. The victim, a woman from Sarvaipet village in Palimela mandal, filed a complaint on December 23, accusing Sammaiah of the assault.
Following the complaint, the Palimela police conducted an investigation and gathered sufficient evidence against the accused. Based on their findings, Sammaiah was arrested and presented before the Bhupalpally district court, which subsequently sent him for judicial remand. The investigation is ongoing.
