Man Arrested for Murder of 16-Year-Old Lathaniel Burrell in London

A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Lathaniel Burrell in South London.

Shooting Incident Near Stockwell Tube Station
Burrell was shot on Paradise Road, near Stockwell tube station, on Tuesday afternoon. The Metropolitan Police received reports of a shooting at 3:21 p.m.

Despite efforts from London’s Air Ambulance and paramedics, the teenager was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. His family is being supported by officers as the investigation continues.

Arrest and Ongoing Investigation
On Friday morning, police arrested a 32-year-old suspect in Croydon. He remains in custody while detectives work to determine his involvement in the killing.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee stated:

“Our detectives are working hard to piece together the events of Tuesday afternoon and identify those responsible for killing Lathaniel.”

She urged anyone with information about the shooting to come forward and assist the investigation.

Appeal for Witnesses
The Met Police continue to gather evidence and have called on witnesses or anyone with footage from the area at the time of the shooting to contact them immediately.
