The Cybercrime Police have arrested Ganesan, a resident of Pannandur village near Kaveripattanam, for allegedly creating a fake Instagram account in a woman’s name and posting obscene photos. The arrest followed a complaint filed by Sivashakthi, a resident of Kaveripattanam, who reported the unauthorized use of her photos.

The cybercrime investigation, led by S. Namachivayam, Additional Superintendent of Police, involved gathering detailed account registration information from Instagram and analyzing IP logs to trace the perpetrator. Following the investigation, Ganesan, who was working at a private lodge, was identified as the person responsible for the cybercrime.

The case highlights the growing issue of cyber harassment and identity theft on social media platforms. The police have urged the public to be cautious with personal data online and report any such incidents to authorities immediately.
