Masaurhi police have arrested four individuals in connection with the brutal daylight murder of 30-year-old Rajesh Chaudhary outside the Ram Janaki Temple on June 17. The investigation revealed that Rajesh’s wife, Mamta Devi, along with her paramour Lucky Kumar, orchestrated the cold-blooded killing.
According to City SP (East), Parichay Kumar, Mamta had been in a relationship with Lucky for four months. Together, they planned the murder and hired contract killer Nishant Kumar for Rs 20,000. A minor also played a key role by acting as a spotter, identifying the victim and keeping an eye on the surroundings.
CCTV footage captured the moment when three men on a motorcycle approached Rajesh’s ice cart. One assailant waited for the crowd to disperse before shooting Rajesh at point-blank range and fleeing with his accomplices.
Initially, Mamta filed a false complaint implicating Kundan Chaudhary and Anoop Chaudhary. However, the police investigation soon uncovered her direct involvement in the conspiracy.
The murder weapon has been recovered, and all four accused—Mamta Devi, Lucky Kumar, Nishant Kumar, and the minor—are now in police custody.
