Malik Winfield Charged in Fatal Motorcycle Racing Crash in Abilene

Malik Winfield has been arrested in Abilene and charged with Racing on Highway Causing Death following a fatal motorcycle crash last year.

According to Abilene Police, Winfield, along with Brandon Galle and Braydon Shockley, was riding motorcycles down Pine St. at high speeds, significantly exceeding the speed of other traffic. Authorities say that Winfield and Shockley were comparing the speeds and power of their motorcycles when Shockley lost control and crashed, causing his death.

Shockley veered off the roadway and struck a street warning sign, which led to his fatal injuries. Winfield and Galle also crashed during the incident, suffering injuries of their own. Police confirmed that the racing actions of both Shockley and Winfield directly led to the deadly crash.

Winfield has now been charged, and the investigation continues.
