Renjith Gopinath, a well-known makeup artist in the Malayalam film industry, was arrested on charges of possessing hybrid cannabis. The arrest took place on Sunday morning during a special vehicle check at Moolamattom in Kerala.
Gopinath, also recognized by his industry name R G Wayanadan, was caught with 45 grams of high-quality hybrid ganja. The operation was conducted by Excise Inspector K Abhilash, as part of the state’s crackdown effort, called ‘Operation Clean State’.
Based in Kalamassery, Kochi, Renjith Gopinath is celebrated for his work as a makeup artist in several successful Malayalam films. His contributions include films such as ‘Aavesham,’ ‘Painkili,’ ‘Sookshmadarshini,’ ‘Romancham,’ and ‘Jan.E.Man.’ According to a release from the Excise Department, Gopinath’s arrest has raised concerns in the industry.
