Maine Mother and Son Arrested in Drug Trafficking Raid

A mother and son from Maine have been arrested on drug trafficking charges after police conducted raids on their homes in Waterville and Fairfield.

The arrests followed a lengthy investigation into drug activity in the area. On Wednesday, the Waterville Police Department executed search warrants at two properties, one located at 7 King Street in Waterville and another at 31 Main Street in Fairfield. Both residences are reportedly linked to 33-year-old Zachary Burnham.

Police say they arrested both Zachary and his mother, 58-year-old Elizabeth Burnham of Winslow. Zachary faces four counts of aggravated trafficking of schedule W drugs, while Elizabeth is charged with one count of aggravated trafficking.

Although authorities did not disclose the specifics of what was found during the searches, both suspects were taken to the Kennebec County Jail. Zachary Burnham is being held without bail, while Elizabeth was released on a $1,000 cash bail.
