Maharashtra Man Arrested for Murder After Harassment of His Wife

A 30-year-old man from Maharashtra’s Badlapur region in Thane district has been arrested for allegedly murdering an acquaintance who had been harassing his wife. The incident occurred on January 11, when Sukant Shatrugana Parida (29) died at the residence of the accused, Naresh Shambu Bhagat (30).

Bhagat initially notified the police about Parida’s death at his home in the Badlapur locality. Upon investigation, the police transferred the body to a state hospital for an autopsy and initially filed a case of unintentional death. However, after pursuing various leads, the police grew suspicious and arrested Bhagat.

During questioning, Bhagat confessed to the crime, revealing that Parida had been frequently visiting his home and harassing his wife, which led to multiple disputes between the two men and the couple. The ongoing harassment and resulting tensions ultimately escalated into the murder.
