Machhiwara Police Arrest Four in Phone-Snatching Gang Bust

The Machhiwara police have successfully busted a phone-snatching and theft gang, arresting four individuals and recovering 19 stolen mobile phones and a motorcycle.

Samrala Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Tarlochan Singh stated that Harjinder Singh, a resident of Hiyatpur, filed a complaint regarding the theft of his mobile phone from a bag hanging on his motorcycle. The investigation led to the arrest of two brothers, Arjan Kumar and Akshay, both residents of Hiyatpur. Police discovered the duo was involved in multiple thefts and snatchings in the Focal Point area, and they recovered 14 stolen mobile phones from their possession.

In a separate incident, Rekha Devi from Machhiwara reported that her mobile phone was snatched by two bike-borne miscreants while she was waiting for a bus at the local bus stand. Further investigation led to the arrest of Gurpreet Singh Gopi and Amarjeet Singh, both residents of Shatabgarh. Police recovered Rekha Devi’s stolen phone along with five others from the suspects.

The arrested individuals, all aged between 22 and 25, are suspected of being involved in other similar crimes, and the police are continuing their investigations.
