Luis Ricardo Solis, 33, was arrested by the Webb County Sheriff’s Office after a vehicle chase and foot pursuit on March 21. The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division had executed an arrest warrant at a residence located off U.S. 59.

When authorities arrived, they observed Solis attempting to evade capture in a brown SUV. He abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot into a nearby brush area. Law enforcement agencies, including SWAT Team Members, deputies, the Webb County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office, and Air and Marine Operations, worked together to search for Solis.

Solis was eventually located and arrested just a few hundred yards from his residence. He was charged with theft of property, a state jail felony, as well as evading arrest with a motor vehicle (third-degree felony), evading arrest (Class A misdemeanor), and resisting arrest (Class A misdemeanor).

Sheriff Martin Cuellar commended the team’s efforts, highlighting their effective collaboration and commitment to public safety. He also thanked the Constable’s Office and Air and Marine Operations for their support.

Solis remains in custody with further legal proceedings to follow. The public is encouraged to report suspicious activity to the Webb County Sheriff’s Office at 956-415-BUST (2878), with potential rewards for information leading to an arrest.
