MARICOPA COUNTY, Ariz. – Five individuals have been arrested for allegedly using social media to traffic firearms and drugs, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).
Authorities say an investigation led by multiple Valley-wide law enforcement agencies uncovered that the suspects were advertising fully-automatic machine guns online.
During the arrests, police confiscated:
2,000 fentanyl pills
Small quantities of cocaine, MDMA, and methamphetamine
Several illegal firearms
The suspects were identified as Luis Acevedo Machorro, Marcos Acevedo Machorro, Jennifer Rojas Madrigal, Andres Acevedo Dominguez, and Jesus Garcia Barrales.
The investigation was conducted by the Maricopa County Drug Suppression Taskforce (MCDST), a High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) initiative. MCDST includes agencies such as the DEA, Arizona Attorney General’s Office, and multiple local police departments, working together to disrupt mid-to-high-level drug trafficking organizations.
Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding charges or court appearances.
