Lucknow Police Arrest Employee for Stealing 33 kg of Silver Jewelry

Lucknow Police have successfully cracked a 33 kg silver jewelry theft case with the arrest of Arpit Mishra, an employee at a jewelry shop located in Chowk Sarrafa Bazar. The theft took place on January 25, when Arpit stole silver jewelry worth Rs 33 lakh from his employer’s shop.

According to DCP Vishwajeet Srivastava (West Zone), Arpit Mishra had been working at the jewelry shop for only 15 days. On the day of the theft, he was assigned to deliver jewelry to a nearby shop at Burlington Crossing. However, instead of completing the task, he escaped with 34 kg of silver jewelry, which he concealed in his scooter’s trunk. When Arpit did not return, the shop owner, Alok Kumar Singhal, filed a missing person report.

Despite several attempts to contact Arpit, his phone remained switched off, raising suspicions. Acting on a tip-off, the police tracked his location and arrested him on the outskirts of Wazirganj near Kudiyan Ghat.

Upon his arrest, nearly 33 kg of silver jewelry was recovered from his possession, along with Rs 2,876 in cash. The stolen jewelry was valued at approximately Rs 33 lakh. An FIR for theft has been lodged against Arpit Mishra, and further investigations are ongoing as police work to uncover the full extent of his actions.
