Love Is Blind Argentina contestant Santiago Martínez has been arrested on multiple charges, including attempted murder, after his wife and co-star Emily Ceco accused him of domestic violence.
Martínez was taken into custody on March 8 at his parents’ home in Ituzaingó, a town 22 miles west of Buenos Aires. He is also facing charges of unlawful deprivation of liberty and minor injuries, according to Argentine law enforcement.
Alleged Assault After Bachelorette Party
The accusations stem from an altercation in early February, just a week after Ceco’s bachelorette party. Reports indicate that Martínez disapproved of her night out, which led to a violent argument when she returned home.
Ceco alleges that Martínez punched her, choked her, and slammed her head into a bed, leaving her with visible bruises on her face and arms.
“I told him, ‘Please don’t hit me,’ and he said, ‘You’re a b***,’ before hitting me twice more,”* Ceco revealed on a morning talk show after the incident.
Martínez’s Arrest and Legal Proceedings
A law enforcement source told Argentine newspaper La Nación that Martínez admitted to an argument that night but referred to the events as mere “shake-ups.”
