LONDON, UK — Nabil Aziz, a 27-year-old drug dealer from Cliff Walk, Newham, east London, has been sentenced to seven years in prison for his involvement in a county lines operation that supplied cocaine, heroin, and cannabis between London and Cambridge. Aziz, who was found guilty of supplying heroin and cocaine, and pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cannabis, was sentenced at Peterborough Crown Court on Monday.
Between September 2023 and February 2024, Aziz operated the so-called “Bingo” county line, a drug distribution network that exploited vulnerable individuals to transport and distribute illegal drugs across different areas. Det Con Ed Glasse from Cambridge Police stated that this was not Aziz’s first conviction for county lines drug dealing, as he had previously been imprisoned for similar crimes. Despite being released from prison, Aziz resumed his trafficking activities within a month of his release.
Glasse commented, “After dealing again within a month of his last prison release, we’ve secured evidence to put him back in jail and dismantled another drug line in Cambridge.”
County lines drug dealing is a growing concern, as dealers prey on vulnerable individuals to carry out these illegal activities, often causing harm to the community. Authorities in Cambridge are committed to addressing the issue and ensuring drug dealers like Aziz face justice.
“County lines dealers prey on the vulnerabilities of others in order to run their business and make money,” Glasse continued. “We recognise the impact they have on our communities and will continue to put them before the courts to make the county a safer place.”
