Local Man Arrested in Connection with Wire Theft Charges

Local Man Arrested On Wire Theft Charges
On January 16th, at approximately 7 a.m., a resident from Triangle Lake spotted three individuals setting a fire on private property. The suspects matched descriptions of those involved in a recent wire theft in the area. Deputies responded quickly and arrested two of the individuals who had outstanding warrants. However, a third suspect, 56-year-old Craig Leon Beaty, managed to flee the scene.

A detective from the Lane County Sheriff’s Office soon joined the investigation, discovering stolen wire and gathering evidence that led to probable cause for all three suspects’ arrests on wire theft charges. Kenneth Lee Wilson, 50, of Florence, was taken into custody on charges of Theft and Burglary, failing to report as a sex offender, and several warrants. Kolby Timothy Vandehey, 37, of Eugene, was also arrested with similar charges and multiple warrants.

Authorities are still searching for Beaty, who is believed to be hiding in the Triangle Lake area. The Lane County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information about Beaty’s whereabouts to contact them at 541-682-4141.
