LAKEWOOD, Colo. (KKTV/Gray News) — A 2-month-old boy, Ezra Johnson, tragically died after being exposed to methamphetamine, according to Colorado law enforcement.
On July 26, the Lakewood Police Department responded to a call about an unresponsive infant at a home on Vance Street. When officers arrived, they found the baby deceased.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed that the cause of death was methamphetamine toxicity. Following the investigation, the infant’s mother, 31-year-old Lisa Marie Johnson, and her boyfriend, 33-year-old Alexander Avila, were arrested.
Both Johnson and Avila are facing charges of first-degree murder in connection with the death of the infant.
