Lily Stewart’s Viral Mugshot Sparks Internet Frenzy

A University of Georgia (UGA) sorority girl’s mugshot has taken the internet by storm after she was photographed smiling ear to ear in her police booking photo.

Lily Stewart, a member of Alpha Chi Omega, was arrested on March 8 in Morgan County, Georgia, for speeding in excess of the maximum limit. While fines for speeding in Georgia can be steep—sometimes reaching $1,000—her arrest wasn’t what caught people’s attention. Instead, it was her composed and cheerful mugshot that quickly went viral.

Internet Reacts to Stewart’s Mugshot
After Morgan County Crime shared her mugshot online, social media exploded with reactions, turning her into an overnight internet sensation.

One user joked, “Whatever she did, my heart says she’s innocent.” Another wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Is her phone number in the report? Asking for a friend.”

The viral moment even led to some playful invitations, with one person commenting, “Hey Lily, my fraternity has a date night next week—if you’re seeing this, you’re invited!”

Embracing the attention, Stewart herself joined in on the fun, posting a TikTok where she shared her favorite internet reactions, captioning it, “Some of my favorite/unhinged comments on my mugshot.”

Fans Turn Arrest into Comedy Gold
Social media users flooded her posts with humorous takes on her arrest:

“They done locked up Miss America.”
“Guilty of stealing my heart, your honor.”
“Guess being pretty is a crime now.”
“Your honor, she was just trying to get to brunch for bottomless mimosas!”
Even Stewart’s personal accounts weren’t spared from the mugshot mania. A follower commented, “I just wanna know how fast you were going because that’s genuinely impressive.” Another added, “Got a super speeder ticket running to this post.”
