Lillie Hardin, Joshua Steele, and Matthew Scott Arrested in Cherokee County Drug Bust

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) — Three people were arrested after authorities uncovered illegal drugs during a search warrant execution in the Lawrence community on Friday.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office found significant quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine, along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Seventy-year-old Lillie Hardin was charged with trafficking fentanyl, trafficking methamphetamine, first-degree possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Thirty-seven-year-old Joshua Steele faces charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. Forty-two-year-old Matthew Scott was taken into custody on outstanding warrants for probation revocation and failure to appear in court on a previous charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

All three individuals were booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center.
