Libor Karas, 52, from Newtown, was arrested and charged with illegal sexual contact on January 16, 2025, after a neighbor accused him of inappropriately touching his underage son.
According to the police warrant, Karas was confronted with the allegations after the child reported that Karas had touched his genital area. The incident allegedly occurred on January 10, 2025, at the family’s residence on Botsford Hill Road.
The child’s father told authorities that Karas had been at their home, playing with his son on the swing set in the backyard while he prepared dinner. However, when the father went to call them inside for a meal, he found the two were no longer visible.
Karas, who faces a Class B felony charge, was arraigned in Danbury Superior Court. He reportedly told police that if the incident did occur, it was accidental. The investigation continues as authorities review the circumstances of the allegations.
