Lexington Park Man Arrested for Drug Trafficking and Firearm Possession

James Allen Chase, a 65-year-old man from Lexington Park, was arrested on February 6, 2025, following a drug trafficking investigation by the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies initiated a traffic stop on Great Mills Road, leading to the discovery of over 10 bags of suspected cocaine, $400 in cash, and other drug-related items.

Simultaneously, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Chase’s residence on Kent Drive. During the search, investigators recovered nearly 100 grams of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, over $100,000 in cash, and a loaded 12-gauge shotgun.

Chase has been charged with multiple offenses, including possession with intent to distribute controlled dangerous substances (CDS), possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime, and possession of CDS with intent to conceal proceeds from drug sales. He is currently held at the Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown.
