Leon Richardson, Michael Martell Charged in Armed Robbery

Two men are in custody after an armed robbery outside a jewelry store in Hamtramck, Michigan, where three victims were allegedly targeted at gunpoint on Monday.

The suspects, identified as Leon Devonte Richardson and Michael Edward-Martell, now face 19 felony charges each. These include armed robbery and carrying a concealed weapon, with potential life sentences due to their habitual offender status.

According to police, Richardson and Martell exited a white Nissan Rogue before confronting the victims. The pair allegedly stole a necklace and a purse at gunpoint and pursued a third victim, who was on crutches.

Hamtramck police quickly responded, arresting one of the suspects shortly after the incident. The second suspect was taken into custody following a brief standoff with law enforcement.
