Lawrence Dudinow Arrested for Bedford County Vehicle Thefts

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) — The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Lawrence Edward Dudinow, 34, of Lynchburg, in connection with a series of vehicle thefts. Dudinow has been charged with auto theft-grand larceny and felony eluding law enforcement. The investigation is ongoing, and the Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help in identifying additional suspects.

On the morning of November 16, 2024, at around 3:30 a.m., deputies responded to reports of people attempting to enter vehicles in the Farmington Subdivision in Forest. As deputies arrived, they observed four vehicles speeding away from the area, one of which had been reported stolen out of Lynchburg.

A high-speed chase ensued, during which one vehicle collided with a Bedford County cruiser that was not involved in the pursuit. Two of the vehicles crashed on Thomas Jefferson Road, and another wrecked in Lynchburg. All the occupants of the vehicles fled on foot.

Dudinow was apprehended, but the Sheriff’s Office continues to search for additional suspects involved in the thefts. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Investigator Long at 540-586-4800, dispatch at 540-586-7827, or Central Virginia Crime Stoppers at 1-888-798-5900.
