Larry Savage Charged with Theft of Ballots in Madison County

A Madison County precinct committeeman, Larry Savage, was arrested on October 28 by Indiana State Police, accused of stealing ballots during a public test of election equipment. The incident reportedly took place at the Madison County Government Center on October 3, where officials were testing four voting machines and 136 candidate-marked ballots under the Voting System Technical Oversight Program (VSTOP). After initial tabulations, two test ballots were found missing.

Surveillance footage allegedly captured Savage folding and pocketing the ballots, despite instructions regarding the validity of test materials. Police later discovered the ballots in his car during a search warrant execution at his residence.

Following a warrant for his arrest, Savage turned himself in at the Madison County Jail on October 29. Indiana State Police emphasized their commitment to maintaining electoral integrity, pledging to continue investigating the matter.
