Larodderick Clay Caught After Armed Robbery and Foot Chase in Texarkana

A 38-year-old man, Larodderick Clay, was arrested Saturday night after an armed robbery at a Fuel N Go convenience store in Texarkana quickly turned into a foot chase with an unexpected end.

According to the Texarkana Texas Police Department, Clay entered the store on North Robison Road around 9:00 p.m., initially requesting a pack of cigarettes. He then pulled a gun on the clerk and demanded cash. After taking money from the register, Clay also grabbed alcohol, cigarettes, and snacks such as gummy bears and Flamin’ Hot Fries before fleeing on foot.

A witness arrived moments later, saw Clay running, and called 911. Police responded promptly, and within minutes, Lt. Jeremy Courtney spotted Clay near Planet Fitness. Clay attempted to escape again but ran straight toward Sgt. Marc Neal and a tall fence, where his escape was halted.

Officers arrested Clay on the spot and recovered the stolen cash, items, and the firearm, which was later identified as stolen from Atlanta, Texas.

Clay was taken to Bi-State Jail, facing charges including Robbery, Theft of a Firearm, and Evading Arrest. His bond was set at $110,000. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The investigation is still ongoing.
