LAPD Arrests Three Teens in West LA Attempted Robbery Shooting

A man remains in critical condition after being shot in the head during an attempted robbery in West Los Angeles, leading to the arrest of three suspects by the LAPD. The incident took place on September 13, 2024, in the 11400 block of North Thurston Circle. The victim, Miguel Aguilar, a fitness influencer and gym owner, was confronted by armed suspects demanding property alongside his wife. During the robbery attempt, Aguilar was shot, and the suspects fled in a waiting vehicle.

Following a month-long investigation, three teenagers—Jason Melara, Daymonee Johnson, and Mahki Taylor—were arrested on October 10, 2024, in Northern California. Notably, one suspect, Mario Melara, sustained critical injuries during the confrontation and later died in the hospital.

On October 15, 2024, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office charged the three arrested teens with multiple felonies, including murder, attempted murder, attempted robbery, and assault with a deadly weapon. Aguilar remains hospitalized in critical condition as the investigation
