The Lagos State Police Command has successfully arrested three suspected cultists involved in armed robbery and in possession of firearms across different parts of the city. The suspects were apprehended thanks to information provided by the public, as confirmed by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on his social media platform.
SP Hundeyin expressed his gratitude to the public for their valuable tips, which led to the arrest of the first suspect, 34-year-old Chinonso Bright, in the Iba area of Lagos State. Further investigation then led to the arrest of two additional suspects, 23-year-old Efanyi Chukwu and 28-year-old Alexander Chiemarie, in the Jakande-Lekki area.
The police recovered a significant cache of weapons from the suspects, including three locally made semi-automatic pistols, one locally made revolver, four rounds of live cartridges, and 129 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
SP Hundeyin emphasized that the suspects will be arraigned following the completion of ongoing investigations. He also reiterated the importance of community involvement in maintaining safety, urging residents to continue to report suspicious activities.
“Thank you again, Lagosians. With your help, three dangerous individuals and four dangerous weapons are off the streets. Policing is everyone’s business. See something, say something,” Hundeyin concluded.
