LA rapper Franklin Scott Holladay, better known as Lefty Gunplay, was arrested in El Paso over the weekend on drug-related charges, forcing him to cancel his scheduled performance.
Holladay, who was in the city for a “Chuco Brunch” event at Friendz Sports Bar & Kitchen, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and for bringing a prohibited item into a correctional facility. Jail records confirm his arrest, and a video surfaced on social media showing the rapper in handcuffs, escorted by an officer at an El Paso medical facility.
Following his arrest, Holladay was released on Monday after posting a $35,000 bond for both charges.
When Power 102 Radio Host Patti Diaz interviewed him after his release, Holladay remained tight-lipped about the incident but expressed regret for canceling the show, stating he hoped to make it up to his fans in El Paso.
Holladay is known for collaborating with Kendrick Lamar on the track “TV Off” and has made a name for himself in the LA rap scene.
