“LA Police Seize 2,800 Stolen LEGO Sets from Elderly Man’s Home”

Los Angeles police have confiscated over 2,800 boxes of stolen LEGO sets from the home of 71-year-old Richard Siegel in Long Beach. The raid occurred on Wednesday and resulted in the arrest of Siegel and 39-year-old Blanca Gudino, who is believed to be his accomplice.

Authorities stated that the retail value of the stolen LEGO sets ranges from $20 to over $1,000 per box. The investigation began when a retailer in San Pedro identified Gudino as a suspect in multiple thefts that occurred last December.

On June 4, officers observed Gudino stealing merchandise from retailers in Torrance and Lakewood. Following the thefts, she reportedly delivered the stolen items to Siegel’s residence. Investigators suspect Siegel was selling the stolen goods online, as several potential buyers arrived at his home during the police raid.

Siegel has been charged with organized retail theft, while Gudino faces charges of grand theft.
