Kylar Beard, Others Arrested in Natchitoches Parish Drug Bust

NATCHITOCHES PARISH, La. – The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office (NPSO) Impact Team conducted a multi-unit crime reduction operation on March 7, leading to five arrests and the seizure of methamphetamine and marijuana.

According to Sheriff Wright, the operation aimed to reduce crime, targeting drug violations, gun violence, and burglaries in the area.

Arrests and Charges
Kylar Beard, 24, of Natchez, was arrested and booked into LaSalle Corrections/Natchitoches Detention Center on the following charges:

Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute
Illegal Possession of Oxycodone
Possession of Marijuana
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Failure to Appear Warrant
Resisting an Officer by Giving a False Name
Beard, who is on probation for a 2020 burglary conviction, remains in custody.

A 16-year-old from Natchez was cited for Simple Possession of Marijuana and released to a guardian.

A 24-year-old Natchez man and a 24-year-old Campti woman were both cited for Simple Possession of Marijuana and released pending court appearances.

Braylon Reliford, 24, of Natchitoches, was arrested on a Failure to Appear Warrant, posted bond, and was released.

Seized Evidence
Deputies seized approximately 25 grams of methamphetamine and less than 28 grams of marijuana. Additionally, two vehicles were impounded due to no insurance violations, and four citations were issued for traffic violations.

Sheriff Wright emphasized the importance of ongoing efforts to combat drug activity and criminal behavior in Natchitoches Parish. The seized evidence will be submitted to the crime lab for further analysis.
