Kurukshetra Man Arrested for Allegedly Murdering His Daughter

The district police in Kurukshetra arrested Lalit Mahto, a migrant from Bihar, on Tuesday for allegedly murdering his seven-year-old daughter by throwing her into the Bhakra-Narwana Canal.

Mahto, who had been residing in Kheri Markanda village for several years, was taken into custody by a team from Thanesar Sadar Police Station. He was presented in the district court and remanded to two days of police custody.

The tragic incident came to light on March 2 when a woman from Kheri Markanda filed a complaint stating that her daughter went to school on March 1 but never returned home. Following the complaint, the police launched an investigation that led to Mahto’s arrest.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the case further as they gather more details about the motive behind this horrific crime.
