Kozhikode Police Arrest Five for Robbing Goldsmith of 2 Kg Gold

A special investigation team from the Kozhikode Rural Police arrested five members of a gang on Saturday (November 30) for allegedly attacking and robbing a local goldsmith of 2 kg of gold in Koduvally.

The arrested individuals were identified as P. Ramesh (42), M.V. Vipin (35), M.C. Hareesh (38), C.K. Latheesh (43), and P.R. Vimal (38). According to the police, Ramesh orchestrated the robbery by hiring a ‘quotation gang’ to assault and rob Baiju, a goldsmith from Muthambalam.

Ramesh, who owns a jewelry-making unit near Baiju’s shop, allegedly conspired to seize the gold with the intent to resell it outside the state. The robbery took place when the gang attacked Baiju, overpowered him, and took the gold.

The police team successfully apprehended all five suspects, and the investigation is continuing.
