Kottayam Man Arrested for ₹3 Lakh Job Scam in Njarakkal

The Njarakkal police have arrested a man, Pratheesh (37), a resident of Neerpara, Kottayam, for allegedly defrauding a job aspirant of over Rs3 lakh. The incident dates back to March, when Pratheesh promised the victim a job at a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU)‘s bottling plant located in Karimugal.

The victim, a resident of Njarakkal, reportedly made the payment as part of the arrangement to secure the job. However, after receiving the money, Pratheesh failed to deliver on his promise. The victim then approached the Njarakkal police and lodged a complaint, leading to Pratheesh’s arrest.

The police have launched an investigation into the scam and are working to determine whether other individuals were involved in this fraudulent activity. Authorities have urged job seekers to remain vigilant against such deceptive practices and verify job offers, especially those involving upfront payments.

Pratheesh was taken into custody and is currently under interrogation. The case serves as a reminder of the increasing number of job-related scams that prey on desperate job seekers.
