Kolkata Director Duped of Rs 40 Lakh by Fake Property Deal

In a shocking incident in Kolkata, a person was arrested and a complaint was filed against six others for allegedly duping Ram Madnani, a director of M/S RM Infra Logistics Pvt Ltd, out of Rs 40 lakh. The fraudsters deceived him by presenting a fake property deal for a property located on Rash Behari Avenue under Gariahat Police Station jurisdiction.

The accused are said to have forged key documents, including PAN and Aadhaar cards, to impersonate the owners of the property. Using these falsified identities, they entered into a fraudulent agreement for sale with Madnani. The deal, purportedly worth Rs 7 crore, was presented to him on June 27. As part of the scam, Madnani was coerced into paying a hefty booking fee, amounting to Rs 40 lakh, before realizing that the entire transaction was a sham.

One individual, identified as Bappa, has been arrested in connection with the case. Meanwhile, a complaint has been lodged against six other individuals, who remain under investigation for their involvement in the fraudulent property sale.
