Kogi Police Arrest Two Armed Robbery Suspects During Insurance Enforcement

The Kogi State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers along the Anyigba-Egume road in the Dekina local government area. The suspects were apprehended during the nationwide enforcement of the Third-Party Insurance policy.

According to Police spokesman, William Ovye, the arrests occurred while officers from the Ayingba Division were conducting the exercise along the Harbour Bay-Egume Road. Two young men, identified as Mohammed Chelim and Oneh Mohammed, were seen exhibiting suspicious behavior on a motorcycle. They were unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for their actions.

A subsequent search of the suspects’ possession revealed a locally made pistol.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, praised the officers for their vigilance and commitment. He assured the public that the police remain dedicated to working with other security agencies to eliminate criminal activities in the state. He also encouraged residents to continue supporting law enforcement by providing credible information on criminal activities.
