Kochi Police Arrest Ananthu Krishnan for Defrauding People with False Promises

In Kochi, police have arrested 26-year-old Ananthu Krishnan for allegedly defrauding people across Kerala of several crores of rupees. Krishnan had been promising customers discounted goods such as scooters, home appliances, and electronics at half price since 2022, claiming that the items were available through CSR funds from major companies.

Krishnan, who was already facing multiple fraud and criminal breach of trust cases in Muvattupuzha and Idukki, is now under investigation for another case filed in Kannur. This new case involves more than 400 complaints related to transactions through the NGO Sardar Patel Institute of Advanced Research and Developmental Studies (SPIARDS), where Congress leader Lali Vincent served as a legal advisor.

The police believe that Krishnan’s fraudulent operations were carried out in association with several accomplices, and investigations are ongoing to uncover further details of the scam.
