Kochi Cyber Police Arrest Muhammed Thufail for ₹5 Lakh Fraud

The Kochi City Cyber Police have arrested Muhammed Thufail, a resident of Koduvally in Kozhikode, for allegedly defrauding a person of Rs5 lakh in a cyber scam.

According to the police, Thufail initially contacted the victim, pretending to be a staff member of a courier company. He claimed that a package, which had been sent from Mumbai to Shanghai, had been intercepted. The package supposedly contained valuable items such as ATM cards, a laptop, cash, and MDMA.

Thufail tricked the victim into believing that the authorities had seized the package and that further action was needed to resolve the matter. Through this deceptive scheme, the accused was able to extract Rs5 lakh from the victim.

The police have launched an investigation into the case and are looking into whether Thufail is involved in other similar scams.
