Kiran Kumar Arrested for ₹8 Lakh Medicine Order Fraud

In a significant fraud case, Kiran Kumar (45), a resident of Udayamperur in Ernakulam, has been arrested for allegedly swindling Rs8 lakh under the pretense of securing medicine orders. The Thrissur East Police apprehended him at his home in Kongapilli.

Kumar is accused of deceiving a local resident from Mulamkunnathukavu by promising to procure medicine orders from other states for a company located on Patturaykkal Ponnuveetil Lane. Initially, he took Rs10 lakh from the victim, returning only Rs2 lakh while failing to repay the remaining Rs8 lakh. After numerous delays, the victim filed a complaint with the Thrissur East Police Station.

Acting on a tip-off received by Thrissur ACP Salish N. Shankar, a police team led by Inspector Jijo M. J. and Sub Inspector Shibu tracked down and arrested Kumar from the Nenmeni area in Palakkad.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that Kiran Kumar is also implicated in one case at the Ernakulam Central Police Station and two additional cases at the Thrissur Town East Police Station. He has since been produced in court and remanded in custody.
