Kevin Moses Sentenced After Pleading Guilty to Drug Charges

Kevin Alexander Moses, 32, of Idaho Falls, was sentenced to supervised probation after pleading guilty to felony charges related to cocaine trafficking and drug possession. In December 2023, Moses was arrested and charged with felony trafficking in cocaine, along with multiple other offenses, including the possession of controlled substances and providing false information to law enforcement.
Moses accepted a plea deal, admitting guilt to the felony charge of manufacturing, delivering, or possessing controlled substances. In return, the state dropped the other charges, including those related to drug paraphernalia. Moses also faced another separate case for felony and misdemeanor possession of controlled substances, which was resolved in a similar manner, with a plea agreement and a suspended sentence.

Under the terms of the agreement, Moses was sentenced to five years for the trafficking charge, but the sentence was suspended. Instead, Moses was granted four years of supervised probation, during which he must participate in treatment court and complete 100 hours of community service.
Moses was accepted into treatment court on April 19, 2024, and was released from the Bonneville County Jail work release program in June to begin community programming. However, in August 2024, Moses was ordered back into custody after violating the conditions of his treatment program by associating with another participant and engaging in a sexual relationship with them.

In September 2024, two motions were filed requesting the removal of Moses’ ankle monitor and his release from the work release program, but no additional motions or decisions have been filed since then.
The charges stem from Moses’ arrest on December 16, 2023, when Idaho Falls police stopped him after recognizing a black vehicle involved in a felony eluding case. Moses, who gave a false name during the stop, was found to have a warrant out for his arrest. Upon searching his vehicle, officers discovered over a pound of cocaine, 13 ounces of marijuana, and 10 LSD tablets, along with drug paraphernalia.
