Kevin Ronald Miller, a 42-year-old resident of the Historic Side of The Villages, was arrested earlier this month after law enforcement linked him to a theft case at Walmart in Summerfield, Florida. The arrest stemmed from an incident that occurred on August 17, 2024, when Miller triggered an emergency alarm while attempting to flee the store with stolen merchandise.
Surveillance footage showed Miller moving through the store, selecting a box of solar security lights and a box of computer speakers before running out the back door. Loss prevention agents reviewed the video and noticed distinct tattoos on Miller’s neck and forearms. These tattoos matched a previous theft case at a Walmart in Bushnell. After cross-referencing the surveillance footage with Miller’s previous booking mugshot from Sumter County Detention Center, the loss prevention officer identified him.
The information was passed on to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, which led to a warrant being issued for Miller’s arrest. He was subsequently apprehended and charged with theft. Miller had been previously arrested in October 2024 in connection with another theft at Rolling Acres Plaza in The Villages.
Miller now faces charges in relation to multiple theft incidents, with his tattoos playing a crucial role in his identification.
