Kentucky Woman Arrested for Theft in Photography Scam

Laurel County, KY – Dakota Mackenzie Burns, a 25-year-old woman from London, Kentucky, has been arrested in connection with a theft by deception case linked to her photography business. The arrest occurred on Tuesday morning after a thorough investigation by the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff John Root confirmed that Burns, operating under the name Kynzie Burns Photography, allegedly took payments for photography services but failed to deliver the services or appear for scheduled appointments. The investigation uncovered 11 victims who were scammed out of a total of $8,172.

Burns was charged with theft by deception, including cold checks, and was taken into custody. She is now being held at the Laurel County Detention Center.
