Kenneth Leckron Charged with Attempted Murder in Asheville Stabbing

A man, 31-year-old Kenneth Nathaniel Leckron, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder following a stabbing incident in downtown Asheville on November 27. Officers were called to the 200 block of Haywood Street around 2:21 p.m. after reports of a man who had been stabbed multiple times. Upon arrival, police found the victim, bleeding and lying on his back.

Officers provided emergency medical care until EMS arrived, and the victim was transported to Mission Hospital in serious condition.

Following an investigation, Leckron was identified as the suspect and arrested later that evening. He was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility, where he remains held on a $500,000 bond. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
