Three adults, Kemonie Bailey, Taneisha Mack, and Martavious Laster, were arrested by Peoria Police after they were caught stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise on Black Friday. The suspects, along with three juveniles, were involved in thefts at Walmart stores in Normal and Allen Road in Peoria.
The arrests were made after Peoria Police Task Force officers conducted covert surveillance on the suspects’ vehicle. The officers observed the stolen merchandise in plain view and stopped the vehicle in the 800 block of Abingdon at Glen Oak Park. In total, officers recovered about $4,000 worth of stolen items from various retailers.
Bailey, 22, faces seven counts of retail theft, theft, and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Mack, 34, faces four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, retail theft, theft, and criminal damage to property. Laster, 26, faces similar charges and was also wanted on two Tazewell County warrants.
The identities of the three juveniles involved in the thefts have not been released.
