Kelly Douglass & Eric Wolfenbarger Arrested for Copper Theft

Sherman, Texas (KXII) – Two individuals, Kelly Douglass and Eric Wolfenbarger, were arrested in Sherman for allegedly attempting to steal copper near Post Oak Creek, a well-known fossil hunting area.

Sherman Police Department officers were alerted to suspicious activity on Sunday near Travis Street. Upon arrival, they detained Douglass and Wolfenbarger, who reportedly gave conflicting accounts of their intentions at the site. Authorities also discovered tools commonly associated with copper theft in their possession.

Both suspects were arrested and charged with theft of material copper. The incident adds to concerns over the increasing problem of copper theft in the area.
