A Warsaw woman, Kayla Karr Taylor, 32, has been charged with concealing the death of Denny Franklin Jones, who died from a suspected overdose. The Duplin County Sheriff’s Office responded to two overdose-related deaths on January 13.
The first call came from Randolph Lane in Seven Springs, where Robert Arthur Nelms was found deceased, believed to have overdosed. While responding to this case, deputies received a second call from West Wards Bridge Road in Warsaw, where they discovered Denny Franklin Jones had also died under similar circumstances.
Investigators from the Special Operations Division Narcotics Unit later determined that Taylor had been at Jones’ home before leaving and failing to notify authorities of his death. She was charged with the concealment of a death, a Class D felony, and is currently held on a $100,000 bond.
An ongoing investigation is being conducted, and additional details may follow after the completion of the toxicology reports.
