Kaushambi Police Arrests Notorious Drug Peddler Devendra Tiwari

In a significant breakthrough, Kaushambi police arrested a notorious drug peddler, Devendra Tiwari (24), from Paschim Sarira on Sunday. The authorities seized over 37 kg of illegal ganja, valued at Rs 8 lakh, along with a car, Rs 2,100 in cash, and two mobile phones from his possession.

The police team from Maheva Ghat, acting on a tip-off, intercepted the car as it headed towards the Godhpur trisection, where the drug consignment was to be delivered. Tiwari was promptly arrested, and a case was registered against him under sections 8 and 20 of the NDPS Act.

Meanwhile, in Fatehpur, Dharmendra (32), from Umra (Khaga), was arrested for his involvement in the brutal killing of a man in Chak Bisauli village under Kotwali police jurisdiction. Dharmendra, along with two accomplices, Shivam and Ashish Shukla, allegedly beat a 38-year-old man to death on January 16 of this year. While Shivam and Ashish were previously arrested, Dharmendra had been on the run until his recent capture.
