Kasiem Smith Arrested in Drug Trafficking Bust in Palmyra

Palmyra arrestA 29-year-old man from Worcester, Massachusetts, was arrested in Palmyra, Maine, after authorities seized a significant stash of drugs and weapons during a raid on Thursday. Kasiem Smith faces multiple charges related to drug trafficking and possession after police executed a search warrant at a home on Madawaska Road, following an extensive investigation by the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon arrival, officers reported that four individuals attempted to flee the scene, but they were quickly apprehended. The authorities discovered approximately $100,000 worth of illegal substances, including cocaine and fentanyl, alongside a loaded pistol, drug paraphernalia, and over $2,700 in suspected drug money.

Smith was arrested and taken to the Somerset County Jail, where he is being held on a $250,000 bail. Authorities have indicated that additional individuals involved in the operation are expected to face charges in connection with the drug trafficking activities.

This bust marks a significant victory in the ongoing efforts of local law enforcement to combat drug trafficking and illegal possession in the region.
