Karnataka Police Arrest Four in Murder of Notorious Criminal Bhagappa

In a brutal murder case, Karnataka police have arrested four men in connection with the killing of notorious criminal Bhagappa Hucchappa Harijan. The murder occurred outside Bhagappa’s residence in Madeena Nagar on February 11.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Prakash alias Pintu Laxman Melinakeri (26), Rahul Bheemashankar Talakeri (20), Sudeep Renuka Kamble (20), and Manikantha alias Gadigeppa Shankarappa Benakopp. They were taken into custody after police launched an extensive investigation into the crime.

According to Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbargi, Bhagappa was shot and then attacked with axes and machetes, leading to his instant death. Gangubai, Bhagappa’s daughter, filed a complaint naming Prakash as the prime suspect.

Bhagappa was a notorious criminal, involved in over ten criminal cases, including six murders. His killing is suspected to be linked to the murder of Ravi Melinakeri, a relative and former business associate. Ravi was allegedly killed by Bhagappa’s associates, and in retaliation, Bhagappa reportedly pressured Prakash, Ravi’s younger brother, demanding Rs10 crore in property and money. He also made vulgar threats to Ravi’s wife, according to reports.

The investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
