Karl Jordan Jr. Stabbed in Brooklyn Jail Ahead of Sentencing

Karl Jordan Jr., convicted in February 2024 for his role in the 2002 murder of Run-DMC’s Jam Master Jay, was stabbed at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn on Saturday afternoon, according to sources familiar with the incident.

Jordan, who had been awaiting sentencing, suffered serious injuries in the attack but is reported to be in stable condition. The Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed that multiple detainees were injured in a fight that broke out at the facility. Two individuals required medical treatment outside the detention center, though the Bureau did not name those involved. Sources indicate Jordan was one of the injured parties.

No MDC employees were harmed in the altercation. Jordan’s attorney declined to comment on the situation.

Jordan and Ronald Washington, a childhood friend of the late Jam Master Jay, were found guilty of murder related to the death of the hip hop legend. Prosecutors said the killing was revenge for a failed drug deal. Washington was convicted on multiple charges, including murder and firearm offenses.
