Karen Huger Sentenced to Jail in DUI Case

Karen Huger, the star of The Real Housewives of Potomac, has been sentenced to jail in connection with a DUI case. The 61-year-old was found guilty of five charges, including DUI, negligent driving, failing to control her speed, and not notifying authorities of a change of address. Huger was acquitted of reckless driving. The sentencing took place in Montgomery County, Maryland, and Huger was given a two-year jail term, with one year suspended, meaning she will serve 12 months behind bars.

The incident occurred on March 19, 2024, when Huger crashed her white Maserati into a tree in Potomac. A bodycam video of the arrest has since resurfaced on social media, showing the aftermath of the crash. In the footage, Huger and her husband, Ray Huger, can be seen speaking to a police officer near the damaged vehicle.

The officer questions Huger about the accident. “Do you remember the accident?” he asks, to which Huger responds, “Yes.” When asked for details, she says, “Actually, nothing really,” before Ray interrupts, saying, “Yeah, somebody ran you off the road.” Huger agrees with her husband’s statement.

When questioned about her level of intoxication, Huger admits, “I was out, but I’m good.” The officer presses further, asking again about how drunk she is.

This case has garnered attention due to both the sentencing and the release of the bodycam footage, shedding light on the chaotic moments following the crash.
